EQR’s environmental projects span throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. With an effort to be more accessible to our clients, EQR has recently expanded to Richmond, Virginia! Our new Richmond office is run by our Regional Project Manager, Michael Aust. Michael has been a stream restoration designer for the last 6 years and has developed new and innovative ways for designers to use technology to be more efficient with less plan errors. Along with his innovation, he is a Drone pilot and has 3D modeling expertise to utilize with our GPS enabled construction equipment.
The Richmond office boasts two construction crews located in Virginia and we are actively hiring for all positions to assemble a third crew. EQR also has seven active projects in the region bounded by Fredericksburg, Norfolk, Dinwiddie, and Harrisonburg at the moment.
Our work with Virginia:
Since 2010, EQR has completed approximately 4-5 construction projects a year in Virginia. One public project we are particularly proud of is, our award winning stream restoration project, Mechumps Creek in the Town of Ashland Virginia. Working for some months with Ashland, Stantec, and Randolph Macon College we successfully delivered an affordable project to assist with grant funding. Because of our close working relationship with these partners we completed the project in 2011. Our continued efforts with this incredible team have opened additional opportunities which will be covered in a future post this year.
What does this expansion mean for EQR and Virginia?
This expansion places EQR in a unique position to be able to assist local clients in a more focused and effective manner with local representation With this expansion we will be able to expand our work in restoring the Chesapeake Bay and be more effective in helping with the largest TMDL in the nation.
There is now a large-scale specialty contractor to construct ecological projects in the central Virginia region. EQR is the largest independent specialty contractor to enter the market and we are excited to keep growing and continue to lend our expertise to Virginia and doing the work we love!
